Day 203: Why do Teens Lie to Their Parents?

When I was a teenager I'd stay out late and lie about it. I would sneak out of the house in the middle of the night to hang out with friends that I wasn't allowed to because 'they were a bad influence'. I drank and did drugs. And I lied bout it all obviously because if I didn't, I would have been punished. And I wanted to try/do all these things because there were many examples in my life that was saying these things were apparently what you want to do as a teenager. My mom would say those things are bad, you're not allowed to do them, but I wouldn't listen because I didn't trust her, because she would get emotional and judgmental and that obviously doesn't look like a sound supportive being who I could trust for practical advice. She just didn't have the effective understanding and vocabulary to effectively express things to me, like an equal talking to another equal who is new to the world and giving practical support of how this world operates and how consequence works in reality. She wasn't trained to be a parent because we don't have effective training in parenting for everyone.

There is the tendency to want to 'hide' what is wrong with ourselves/the world from children when they're very little, or to not talk about such 'negative' things, in order to allow children to have as a 'good' a time as possible, and then what happens is they don't have any practical idea of the dangers out there or the consequences we can create for ourselves.

What we also tend to do is to 'create consequences' for children, which are then like 'fake' consequences, things like taking away the things they like to do like use their phone or the internet or the tv, but these so-called consequences are consequences that we did unto them, they are not the Actual consequences that would result from their behavior. So when we do this they are not learning about what their actual consequences of their actions are, they are only learning that if/when they are 'caught', by you, doing certain things, that then You will do something to them, or take something from them. So then what happens is you get in the way of them learning about actual consequence, because they are only now learning what you might do to them.

So the child actually has, from that perspective, very common sensical reason to lie to you – to avoid your punishment. So to tell the child not to lie to you, or it's not right to lie, is like, rather pointless because they found a benefit to lying, which was to get themselves out of punishment and get to do what they think they want to do, sometimes. So to say there is consequence to lying to you isn't going to make much sense, because to the child it will seem there is more consequence in not lying to you. Also, in the way the world is, one may find it necessary to lie in some circumstances. Because we as human beings are not yet trustworthy enough with each other to be able to just be honest all with everything. So, you don't want to form a morality toward lying as being right/wrong / good/bad. It is preferable to not lie of course.

So things like taking tv away or 'being grounded' for example, are actually 'punishments'. They are not the natural actual consequences that would result from what they are doing. Like for example, if you stay up late a lot it can affect the development of your body and lead to issues down the road, as the body depletes itself from not getting the rest it needs to rebuild itself from the day's living. Not – if you stay up late you will be grounded. That doesn't make sense. That doesn't give any practical understanding of the consequence they would create for themselves by not sleeping properly, that is the consequence You will create because You want them to sleep and not stay out late, so then it is about what You Want and not about what is Best for Themself.

As parents we have a tendency to attempt to control, because we don't believe anything else will work. We don't believe that a child would respond to common sense, because we haven't aligned ourself with common sense yet. So we think we have to 'put a foot down' and take control. So you're essentially demanding that they comply, and that is very unlikely to have a positive result. What it's going to look like to the child is that You want something of/from them, You wanting to control them/their behavior to the result You want. They are not going to see it as trying to prevent them from experiencing consequences in reality, as what is best for Them. Because that is in fact essentially what it is, it is wanting/demanding/expecting certain behavior from the child. That is in essence wanting to control another being, and most beings are not going to respond well to being controlled. I certainly didn't, if you have had experiences in your life where another was trying to control you, you can check what effect that had/how did you respond to that.

So we've got a ways to go in correcting ourselves, and the children are going to suffer through that, as did we also as children, but we'll walk ourselves out of this step by step until it's done, and we can challenge ourselves to make it as fun as we can, by not making things personal/judging. We have now the tools and just have to walk it, educate ourselves to become practical beings grounded here in reality.

An important point within this, is to look at everything from the perspective of what am I living, instead of what I'm expecting another to live for/toward me. And checking all points that come up, like if I am mad at them for lying – how/when/where do I or have I lied? Or if they aren't respecting me - how/where have I not been respectful? Where respect would mean treating another as my equal. There is the tendency to place all these expectations on another, without focusing on ourselves and our own living and behaviors.

And we need to educate ourselves on the actual consequences so we can effectively explain them - not the consequences we would create for them ourself. Give the child the common sense, so they can reason for themselves what is the best course of action. And if they make a mistake – do not judge them. And realize, they have not hurt you, they only hurt themselves. When we make it about me and what They're doing to Me, then it is about control and manipulation and enslavement instead of allowing a being their individual life and learning process. It is like the 'you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink'. We can show the children where the water is, but we can't make them drink it. And the more we would try to force them to the more they would resist, because then it looks like we have some personal agenda or investment in it, and it is going to seem fishy. You've got to give the child their space to choose. Trust in a relationship is indeed something that is built, but you have to give trust at first for it to even be possible for trust to emerge. You have to trust the being, not to act how you want them to, but trust the being to hear common sense, and to understand the choices they face is always to do what is best for them or what is not. Maybe they will, and maybe they won't. But it must be up to the individual if we're to live as truly equals.

Day 157: I Don’t Want to Do This: FEAR Dimension (Part 2)

Equal Money to End Abuse

This post is a continuation to:

In the last post I wrote about the FEAR Dimension of the I Don’t Want to Do This Character/Personality as to how and why I created this character initially, and now in this post, I’ll walk the Self Forgiveness statements in relation to those points.

Fear Dimension Self Forgiveness:
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to as a child form this character/personality in protection of my self interest, where I thought that by participating in this character I’d be able to somehow manipulate my situation so that I can be experiencing what I ‘want’ to experience, within this not seeing, realizing and understanding that all I was changing was my internal experience of myself, and thus this character/personality was not actually ‘protecting’ my experience, as through this personality/character, I was actually creating my experience, by participating in the mind as thought, imagination, backchat, reactions, and energy-experiences.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that the idea/belief about what I ‘want to do’ vs. what I ‘don’t want to do’ was based on only what I was used to experiencing, which in my childhood, was mostly freedom from responsibility/obligations/work, and where such things were presented to me with a ‘negative’ charge to them, and to copy the examples within my reality within copying this same relationship toward work/responsibility/obligation, as seeing it as negative, in comparison to what I was used to doing.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize and understand that this relationship of ‘what I want to do’ vs. ‘what I don’t want to do’, was actually not supportive to me in any way, but was actually a pattern which supports me to remain limited, as if I stick to what it is ‘I want to do’ as being free from responsibility/obligation, then I create consequences in my own personal life and the world at large, as I did not realize the nature of the reality we live in, where we’re in a physical reality where there is cause and effect, and that this implies that I have responsibilities to ensure that my words and actions are that which cause the best effect in this reality, as what/how I create this reality will be the direct result of what I accept and allow, and thus, within this, I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize and understand how by putting ‘what I want to do’ before taking care of my responsibilities, would have a detrimental effect on my world/reality.

Within this, I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not make the connection between me living as this character within which I put ‘what I want’ before what’s required to be done, to how humanity is living this pattern on the larger scale, and that what I accept myself to live as, I accept all others to live as, and thus I am responsible for humanity putting ‘wants’ before responsibilities.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not question what was presented to me in my childhood, as the examples I saw in which working/responsibility/obligation was presented as a negative thing, and to within this, emulate the behaviors/experiences/feelings I saw presented toward working/responsibility/obligation, and within this not questioning why/how it is that we are actually having an experience toward responsibility/obligation, that is not the experience of doing the responsibility/obligation itself, but is a ‘superimposed’ experience that I’ve attached to working/responsibility that is actually only taking place within me, that I in fact created, accepted and allowed within myself.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that forming a character in which I manipulate my inner experience will somehow have a beneficial effect on my outer experience, within this not realizing that the thoughts/feelings/emotions/reactions/ energy were only taking place within my myself within my mind, and thus have no effect/bearing on physical reality.

Within this, I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize, understand that by participating in/living as this character/personality, that I actually had a ‘negative’ effect on my life, as instead of being effective within my life and applying myself within what is here and what needs to be done as my responsibilities within getting a job and working to support myself, and getting myself into a position to have an effect in this world/reality, I accepted and allowed myself to be manipulated by energies from the mind to avoid my responsibilities and the opportunities I had in my life, by always choosing to go for the ‘positive’ as ‘what I want’, within that not realizing the consequence that I was creating for myself and the world, as within accepting myself to remain limited, I accepted this world the way it is, choosing my own ‘personal experience’ over what is here that needs to be done, within the realization that I do not exist alone in this world, and that there is extensive suffering taking place in this world as a direct result of our collective acceptance and allowance, and thus I have a responsibility to stand up and do what I can while I am here in this life, to take action to stop these problems we’re creating and create a world that is Best for all Life.

We’ll go up to here for now, and continue with self Forgiveness statements on the FEAR Dimension within the next post to come.

Day 135: Validation Character: Redefinition Dimension

Featured Artwork by Marlen Vargas Del Razo

This post is a continuation to:

In this post we’ll be walking the Redefinition Dimension, within which I’ll through writing, redefine who I am in my relationship with myself and my living within this world, to walk myself out of a character/personality and into real physical self-directed living.

For more context in what is being walked here, suggest to read the Heaven’s Journey to Life blogs that walk through this process of Character/Personality deconstruction and Self Redefinition in more detail which starts with this post Character Dimensions - Introduction: DAY 162

Redefinition Dimension: Writing:
I see, realize and understand that as the Waiting for Validation Character/Personality, that I have evolved this Character/Personality in my mind based on interacting with others in my world/reality, to never really be here when interacting with others, and so sabotage the relationships I form with others, to keep me from ever developing effective relationships with the beings that I exist with and interact with here. And that I have so accepted living as this character/personality that it ‘just happens’ like automatically, where when the situation of meeting/interacting with someone comes up, I just immediately go into this character, in wanting to avoid the interaction, wanting to do something else, fearing how the other will react/act toward me, and not just remaining here as myself, in breath, stable, and giving my attention and presence to the meeting/interaction before me.

Thus, how I am redefining my relationship toward meeting/interacting with others, is to no more accept and allow myself to go into the Validation Character/Personality, to no longer allow this character to activate when faced with meeting/interacting with someone in my world/reality, to rather utilize these moments as opportunities to be here and present within interacting with others and to establish my self-will, as within those moments moving myself to face the task before me, and by moving myself, not give the character any ‘space’ to even activate, as I stand as the directive principle of myself, and thus move myself in/as breath to follow through with the interaction.
Thus I will move and move myself to face the task within walking directly toward the person, without any hesitation, standing up straight and trusting myself to be here as myself while interacting with another.

So here I’ve laid out for myself how I’m going to practically change my living from the character/personality pattern, to what change I will walk and how I will walk it, in order to assist and support myself within actually changing in my living and in who I am in relationship to myself and what is here. To through this, take responsibility for the patterns I’ve existed as which are self-limiting, which in turn limit all of existence, as it’s each and every individual and how/what we live as, collectively as one, that creates this world and everything in it.

As it’s said in lyrics of the song ‘Ode to Our Children’: “We created the world from the choices we made. We’re creating the world from the choices we make.” (by the way, you can download that song for Free on Eqafe here.)

So since we’re creating the world through the choices that each and every one of us makes, the solution to change the world is to get to know ourselves as the choices we make in each and every moment, in our day to day lives. Like for example, the choice to accept and allow a character/personality to activate and to sabotage me from being effective here in reality, and taking care of my responsibilities. Like when we choose to put our ‘wants’ before our responsibilities, and manifest consequence for ourselves and thus for everyone and this entire existence. I mean, what we’re doing to nature and the animals, for example, is because we’ve placed our ‘wants’ before responsibilities, so that we’re focusing our time and attention firstly on consumerism entertainment, instead of first ensuring that we’re effectively caring for the nature and animals that without which we wouldn’t even be able to be here entertaining ourselves, as we require nature and the animals to survive.

And like we are allowing ourselves to put entertainment and consumerism before taking action to change our economic system to one that does not create inequality and suffering while supporting a small percent of the population, to one that actually supports all of humanity, in actually doing what it’s supposed to do as functioning as an actual life-support system that works to provide all beings with that which is needed to survive and thrive here.

Thus, why I have committed myself to walking this process of writing, self forgiveness and corrective application, and to walking the Desteni I Process, through which I am practically guided to get to know myself as the patterns I live as, in Detail, so that I can see exactly how I manifest consequence for myself in my immediate environment/relationships, and so to see, realize and understand how I also manifest consequence in the world at large and thus to live in awareness and take responsibility for what I’m manifesting to walk myself into practical change, to no longer live a life of accumulating consequence, and start living Solutions.

Day 134: Validation Character: Consequence Dimension (Part 3)

Featured Artwork by Anna Brix Thomsen

This post is a continuation to:

Within this blog, we’re continuing with the Consequence Dimension in walking the Commitment Statements.

Consequence Dimension: Commitment Statements:
I commit myself to assist and support myself to take responsibility for myself and how I live as an individual as I see, realize and understand that what I accept and allow myself to live as is what I accept and allow all to live as, and thus, I commit myself to assist and support myself to really face the consequences I create through what/how I live, when I compromise myself and the relationships I form here with others in my world/reality and so to stop creating consequence through establishing my self-will and self-direction in stopping participation in these patterns of self-sabotage, so that I can remain here in reality, and form effective relationships, instead of going into my mind and into energy-experiences and manifesting consequences for myself and all of existence.

I commit myself to no longer living as a child, within placing my ‘wants’ and ‘what I want to do’ before my responsibilities, as I see, realize and understand that reality does not actually exist as it seemed to when I was a child and ‘carefree’, as I was not shown the actuality of reality and how we have responsibilities that require to be tended to, in order to not manifest unnecessary consequences, and thus I commit myself to put my responsibilities first, to ensure that no unnecessary consequence is manifested, and only once my responsibilities are taken care of, then get to my preferences.

I commit myself to assist and support myself to stop creating and adding consequence through feeding my mind through participation in thoughts, imagination, backchat, reactions, that lead to manifesting physical conditions/behaviors that makes it so much harder to stop in the moment once I’ve let it get to that extreme, and thus I commit myself to establish self-will in stopping my participation in the mind before it gets ‘that far’, so that I do not manifest unnecessary consequence, and not make it extra hard for myself to stand, thus simply postponing the inevitable and making it more difficult.

I commit myself to stop manifesting consequence in this reality through what I accept and allow for/within myself, and so within all as humanity as not having/forming effective relationships, by committing myself to establishing effective relationships myself, by no longer participating in the belief that ‘I don’t want to’ meet/interact with others, and placing that ‘want’ before responsibility that I have to get effective at interacting with others, as our effectiveness in interaction determines how effective we are in this world and functioning as a whole, since we all exist here together, many any beings, that together form the greater body of humanity.

Within this, I commit myself to, as I walk in facing myself and the consequences I create, and assisting and supporting myself to no longer create consequence, through establishing living solutions, so to stand with the Equal Money System, in correcting how it is we’re living as a whole within establishing a World system that also stand within the principle of what is best for all, to stop the consequence that the current system is manifesting, and establish the solution to walk ourselves as humanity, out of consequence and into Real Living where all life is Cared for.
