Day 187: Why Me? Do you Recognize this Character?

So now we are going to continue with looking at the Victim Character, in which I victimize myself, utilizing the events/situations that occur throughout the day, to build a character of self-defeat, where I make something out of nothing, and add further consequence to my living. What’s ironic about this pattern, and with all mind patterns actually, is that the mind reverse everything, so that instead of doing what would be most effective, most beneficial for oneself, in a moment, we’ll do the complete opposite, and we’ll actually think it’s a good idea to do so, and that it makes sense. Which is what I found in investigating my own mind, and really having a look in self honesty, at just what is going on, like – what is the motive behind my thoughts, what actions are they driving me toward? And what I’ve found is just, really quite bizarre, as we tend to go into the acceptance of limitation, instead of toward that which will lead us to actually expand ourselves to be effective human beings and live to our true potential.

At first I felt overwhelmed as this point opened up – as I was actually becoming more and more aware of just the extent to which I had come to exist as this primary pattern of self-defeat and self-sabotage, where it has become so permeated into my very being-ness, that it’s like I think, eat, and sleep it practically.

Yet, thanks to the assistance I’ve had from walking with Desteni, I am able to realize that this overwhelmedness is now only because I am finally becoming aware of the point, and I have been living as this point for nearly my entire life, so it is really nothing new. And this is what is so awesome about becoming aware of and seeing the patterns one exist as – because now there is the possibility to change those patterns, and stop those patterns.

So, I’ve noticed a few dimensions to this character, where I basically go into creating conflict with reality, I mean that is essentially what this pattern is – creating conflict.

I notice that this character comes up when for example things don’t go according to how I’ve planned, or like when something unexpectedly comes up, and now I am not able to continue with things as planned.

Another situation in which this character arise, is through comparison of myself to another, for example someone in my life like a coworker or my partner, wherein I’ll see them doing or experiencing something that I think is ‘cool’ or ‘fun’ , and then compare that to what I am doing in the moment which I’ve defined as not ‘cool’ or ‘fun’, and then go into a ‘why me’ experience based on that comparison in that moment.

And then, another way I notice this character come up, is when events will happen to me that I’ve defined as ‘negative’ within a relationship of ‘what one is supposed to have a negative reaction toward’, which I will then ‘accrue’, or ‘add up’ over the course of a day or even weeks or months or really there is not set ‘time limit’, where each ‘bad thing’ that ‘happens to me’ is like ‘one more nail in the coffin’ where I use each following point to go further and further into this character.

So, in the next post of the WHY ME Character series, in which I will be continuing with the practical application of writing out this character, to get to see and understand it in all its dimensions, I will take a look at the Thought Dimension of this character, as what is the typical initial Thought/Thoughts that come up that activate this character.

Day 185: WHY ME - Drunk on the Whine of Imagination

www.Desteni.org

In this blog post we are now continuing from this previous post: Day 183: Everything that Happens to Me is Another Excuse to Feel Bad, in which I have started to open up the point of taking what’s going on in my reality, events that are taking place or that happen throughout the day, which I would define as negative, and take it personally in a ‘why me’ victim type character. And I formed such a habit, such an addiction to this character, that I still live it to this day, and that is why I am here blogging about it – to assist and support myself to stop this pattern, through walking myself through it, point by point, within specific detail, in order to identify the pattern so that I can recognize it when it is happening and what it is that triggers it, to give myself the opportunity and ability to stop what has essentially become an automated process, to the extent where I would act on it immediately in a situation when a particular trigger arise.

The problem with living as this pattern of participating in the mind within making myself a victim to everything within my imagination, where I imagine that everything else s to blame for how I experience myself, is that I manifest all kinds of consequence for myself that just isn’t necessary at all. I mean, why would I want to create consequence for myself to go through if I really don’t have to? It doesn’t make any sense, it has just become an automated habit, that I do because it’s become what I’m used to/addicted to as I’ve what I’ve accepted is ‘normal’.

The effects are really not pleasant, there is depression and getting upset/overwhelmed with emotions, which is a really draining experience, and takes quite a toll on the physical, is a big waste of time – why do I want to spend the breaths that I have here in this life, within a self-created shit-storm of emotions and feelings, when I could simply be here, stable as myself and really get to know myself as this actual reality that is here, no longer caught up in an imaginary reality in my mind – and it interferes with my relationships, as I go into blame and reaction instead of just being here with another person and not creating any drama. Do I really want to be ‘unwittingly’ acting out a role in a Drama as the Star in my own Play, where I ‘play out’ the patterns in my mind, over and over again?

No way.

How can I enjoy myself or myself with another being, when I am possessed within an experience in my mind? When I am in this character I am definitely am not enjoying myself. It is quite a disempowering experience, as I am literally disempowering myself by giving my ‘power’ away to thoughts/feelings/emotions/my mind, in essentially saying ‘go ahead, you take over and direct me now’ within just the simple acceptance of myself as being what comes up in my mind as an experience of myself. And instead of living, I become an observer of my own life, and then a reaction to that observation, and so am not really here living, I’m just a reaction to an observation – how limited.

The Solution to this problem is the application of a process of self forgiveness and commitment to self correction, as has been discussed in previous blogs, where one utilize writing (or typing) as a tool for self change, through self investigation, as within one’s writing, one can see who one is, as the words one live, find the patterns self exist/live as that are not supportive, and to rescript oneself into corrective application, to assist and support self to actually change one’s living. Thus, I’ll be walking this series of posts on this topic of this ‘why me’ VICTIM Character, in between walking the series on WAR which began in the previous post.

Essentially the essence of e Victim character is to immediately utilize any excuse/reason/justification to go into a point of limitation, placing myself as a victim to my world/reality, really anything, instead of what in common sense would be much more worthwhile would be to always look how I can take responsibility, within this always looking at/considering in any given situation, what ability do I have to respond – ultimately expanding oneself at every opportunity.

Which brings us to the Rewards of no longer existing as this pattern. I mean, why stop this pattern? It is so easy to continue living as it, as it’s what I’ve gotten used to, and thus to stop it is not going to feel ‘normal’ or ‘natural’, in fact it is going to go exactly against what I feel comfortable with, what I even believe/think/perceive I am capable of, as this is how I’ve always existed practically my whole life since when I was a child in the first seven years.

From that perspective it’s not going to be easy, it’s not going to ‘feel good’, and thus how/why so many are trapped within the ‘only do what feels good trap’ to never take the opportunities where one might actually expand oneself into real living here, because one deliberately ignore what is uncomfortable. But like anyone who has struggled at something new, to eventually become good at it, can realize that new things are not easy in the beginning, as one has to push oneself beyond what one is already capable of, for example, with physical activities, one is going to be sore as one develop one’s muscles to perform certain tasks and maneuvers that one hasn’t done before.
Thus the key is to not stop at the point of discomfort, but to push through, realizing that it is the indication for a point of self change and self expansion, through self willed self application to breathe and move through any resistance.

Thus in terms of this Victim Character, what one essentially stands to gain, is literally life itself as actual real living to one’s full potential, through no longer accepting and becoming limitation. Within this, you will constantly be expanding your abilities in this world to constantly be able to do more and go beyond what you could before.

As we go further into specifics of this Character of Victimhood in posts to come, we’ll uncover in more specificity the nature and design of this character, to better recognize the pattern of behavior and how it activates and takes-over within a process of mind participation within thoughts, imagination, backchat, emotions, and feelings, where one completely and totally limit oneself, instead of recognizing an opportunity to develop self as self will, self expression and becoming more than one ever thought possible.

To be continued..

Day 183: Everything that Happens to Me is Another Excuse to Feel Bad

Heaven's Journey to Life

A pattern that I have noticed within myself, that we’re going to take a look at in this post and posts to come, is a pattern that has been a really fundamental design of my personality which I’ve lived as throughout my life, and through which I caused myself a lot of misery. It is a pattern of essentially making something out of nothing. Where I’d take whatever is here going on in my world and reality, in the day to day, and make something out of it, using it as a reason to go into a victim experience, like ‘oh man, I can’t believe this is happening to me’, and ‘first this, and now that’ where I would throughout the day and even throughout my life, be keeping a sort of ‘tally’ of everything ‘unfortunate’ that’s happened to me, and how unfair my life is.

And through this pattern of behavior I formed and maintained a self definition of being a victim to the world, a victim to the experiences I had and what would come up in my life. What I didn’t see, realize or understand is that I was actually victimizing myself, through my participation in this personality design. The experience that I created within myself through my participation in/as the mind within the multiple dimensions of thoughts, imagination, feelings, emotions, internal conversations, was my own doing, and had nothing to do with whatever was happening/place in my life, as it was directly as a result of my participation in the mind that created how I experienced myself, as my relationship to myself, my life, and the world.

Yet, there is the tendency to think and believe that it is what is going on in our life that is ‘the reason I feel this way or that’, that it’s the events that come up that are to blame for how we react and how we experience ourselves. I mean, I believed this. I believed that because my boyfriend cheated on me, it was normal to feel like shit, to feel worthless, and to just overall be completely possessed by an experience of depression. If people were nice to me throughout the day, I felt good about life. If I had several ‘negative’ encounters, I hated life, hated people, hated everything and felt depressed and like ‘what’s the point’.

As children, we learn to react certain ways toward certain things, and since we have no frame of reference for what we’re experiencing or why or how thoughts, feelings and emotions work, we just go along with it accepting it as normal, as that’s the example we see from everyone else as well- the adults in our lives, our parents, no one has a clue what’s really going on in one’s own mind, and it’s just accepted as normal, and we pass on these reactions and this acceptance that our environment is actually creating this reactions/experiences within us, on to the next generation, and the next.
So I, like everyone else, had accepted these patterns of reactions as normal, and that it really is things in my reality that’s causing it. I’m sad because it’s raining and I was going to have a picnic. I feel so good because ‘my song’ is playing on the radio. And so on. You can find all kinds of examples if you look at your own reactions toward things. As you walk through your day, just notice where you find yourself thinking, ‘I’m so this because of that’, or ‘Man, I feel so this’ and then look at what is the ‘that’ that ‘made you’ feel that way.

So the problem with this is that we’ve essentially made ourselves victims to our environment, and so now we don’t even see what is actually a real problem or not, because we’ve gone and fabricated problems toward what is here, and now we don’t know what’s real or not. The consequence of when we make up this construct of essentially an ‘if this, then that’ program and live as if that is real, is we are enslaving ourselves, to our own mind, to now go into a certain reaction in a certain situation, and thus we’re not really here living, but essentially going from one reaction to the next. Which is quite exhausting, as it takes energy to generate these reactions, for which the mind utilize the resources of the physical body. And thus why we over time become more and more ‘aged’ as we call it, but it is really the consequence of the depletion of the physical body to an extent which it can’t effectively replenish, and thus deteriorate until we start to lose functions and all sorts of conditions begin to develop, like strokes and such, the body can’t take it anymore.

The solution to this, to put it simply, is to stop existing as these patterns of energy-experiences, and thus why I am walking this patterns and others here in this blog, to through the application of self writing, self forgiveness and self corrective statements, assist and support myself to stop myself as essentially existing as nothing more than energy-experiences, which will lead to the inevitable reward of discovering what it means to really live, and actually living.

We will further open up this point in posts to come..

Day 107: Blame Character – Commitment Statements

I commit myself to assist and support me to, when and as I see myself waiting to stop blame within the belief that I don’t have a choice to stop blaming, to stop participation in the belief, as I realize that I do have a choice as I am the one that has made the choice to participate in blame in the first place, and thus the only thing I am waiting for is myself, to stop participation in blame for any reason/justification/excuse.

I commit myself to when and as I see myself believing that I cannot stop blaming another/that I must blame them/that it makes sense to blame them because of the circumstances, stop and breathe, and remind myself that I am using the circumstances as the excuse/justification/reason to participate in and go into a reaction of blame and that I am actually the one deciding to go into a reaction of blame as it’s the pattern of behavior I’ve established within myself in response to certain circumstances/situations, and so I walk myself out of that pattern of behavior by becoming the directive principle in each and every moment in no longer justifying blame as being caused by something outside/separate from myself, taking self responsibility and stopping the pattern.

I commit myself to walking through this character of blame and all its dimensions to assist and support myself to stop participation in and existing as this character, to no longer allow myself to go into a reaction of blame towards another, and forming a relationship toward them in separation, so I can rather stand as stability equal and one with the physical here, and open up the opportunity to understand what was actually going on in the circumstances and understand the other being, and not be directed and controlled by a reaction which only leads to consequence that is of no benefit.

I commit myself to when and as I see myself accepting blame as a ‘normal’ experience/reaction to be in/as, stop and breathe, remind myself that any reaction that comes up within me is not self directed, and thus to be investigated and not participated in as it is a pattern in separation of myself that I have not created in awareness.

I commit myself to showing and exposing the consequences of blame and how it is a massive part of the problem that keeps us from investigating ourselves and correcting our own individual natures because we’re instead busy pointing a finger at another.
I commit myself to assist and support myself to when and as I see myself going into the fear that another is doing something deliberately to harm/spite/take advantage of me, stop and breathe, as I realize that it is only a fear and that that fear is not real and that I do not in fact actually know what was actually going on or why another acted in the way they did, and so open up the opportunity to actually find out what went on in reality, instead of going into a reaction of taking it personally and within doing so, separating myself completely from reality.

I commit myself to when and as I see a thought come up in my mind as how things ‘would have gone’ if that person hadn’t done what they did or had acted in some other way, stop, breathe, and do not allow myself to believe in the picture that I see in my mind, as I realize it’s simply a picture in my mind, that would be the trigger to activate the character of blame to take-over, and take me into the possession of living/existing as the character of blame.

I commit myself to when and as I see myself about to play/playing out scenes in my imagination, to stop, breathe, bring myself to back here and stabilize myself in reality, and not go into my mind as my imagination into imagining scenarios where I see the other person as spiting me deliberately, as I realize that this imaging only fuels the fire for mind to get energy from my participation in/as the blame character.

I commit myself to when and as I see myself participating/going into internal conversations/backchat within myself, to stop and breathe, and not participate in the backchat, as I realize that the purpose of going into the backchat is only to further talk myself into participation in/as the blame character, so that the mind can feed off the energy that I generate while participating in/as this character, and thus I stop so I can become the directive principle and no linger give away my self direction and responsibility to the mind to control and direct who I am and how I behave, so that I can stand stable and constant as who I am no matter what situation/circumstance may come up, and to stop creating consequence and rather walk the correction, to be able to stand and direct situations into solutions that are best for all.

Day 104: Many Characters of Waiting

Featured Artwork by Andrew Gable

So I’m going to start writing out, one by one, all the different characters I can find in which I become/live as a character of Waiting, where I’m giving in to some reason/justification/excuse as to why I apparently can’t stop living as a certain pattern instead of realizing that I am the one that can change me, nothing else in fact can, and thus I am only ever waiting for myself to change.

The key to this is realizing and remembering that any reaction of separation one has toward something/someone else is never valid. For example blaming another, being jealous of another, judging another, being angry at another, being disappointed with another, and there’s many more possible reactions that come up in us toward others.

And this applies to anyone or anything in one’s reality – could be a person, a place, a particular scenario, a scent, a memory, a picture, a particular sound, tonality of someone’s voice, a certain hairstyle, etc, that one has a reaction to. Basically anything that is here, it’s possible to have a reaction toward.

Now, notice, the physical does not react in separation toward itself. Your house is not busy reacting toward the color of your car, for example. Seems ridiculous in that context, doesn’t it? Yet that’s what we do without even realizing it most of the time, we’ve so taken it for granted and accepted it as just a part of who we are. Because we learned these patterns for the most part in our very early childhood, and have since ‘forgotten’ that we actually learned these behaviors, we weren’t born this way, reacting to things, we were just here. Being here as a physical being interacting with the physical world, which is essentially just an extension of oneself, as we all come from the same substance, we’re made of the same particles, and it’s quite silly indeed for one group of particles to judge another, and it’s outrightly insane that they’d go to war with each other, and all the other atrocities that we are committing toward those who are just other versions of ourselves.

So the point is to ‘get back to’ that point of ‘innocence’ before I became programmed with all sorts of reactions to my world/environment/reality, so that I can actually live here and experience and participate in real physical reality, and not spend the time I have here, wasting it away in reactions to things. Cause that’s not really living. And there are serious consequences for living as reactions and separation toward what is here, which you can see as all the atrocities that’s taking place, in all the harm the we’re doing to one another, and to our very own selves. So not only do you waste your life away, in chemical reactions which wreak havoc on your physical human body, but so we wreak havoc on the entire physical reality, as a direct result of the judgments and reactions we’re participating in towards our world/reality/environment/other beings.

So I’ll be walking through and deconstructing all the patterns of Waiting as the multiple Characters and their dimensions that I find I have existed as, in which I have accepted myself as the patterns I’ve become as 'who I am' and thus can only Wait for Change to happen to me, within this getting into the nitty-gritty of each character and deconstructing the various dimensions of each character, so I can release these patterns through self forgiveness and corrective application, and walk here as a real being in oneness and equality, that lives in a way that is best for all life.

Day 103: No More WAITING – Self Commitment Statements

Featured Artwork by Sylvie Jacobs

I commit myself to investigate myself and root out all patterns I exist as where I am waiting for my external environment to change before I will change, where I have made myself and who I am subject to outside factors that are separate from me, so that I can take back my response ability from where I have ‘given it away’ to places/people/situations/events, and become the directive principle of myself.

I commit myself to root out any reason/justification/excuse as to why I ‘can’t change’, why I apparently have no choice but to continue experiencing/validating/living as the reaction I am having toward something/someone else in my world/reality, and that I apparently have to feel/think/act that way because of the situation/person/event/scenario that I am reacting to.

I commit myself to becoming the directive principle of myself so that I am no longer living as a victim stance toward my environment/reality where I am literally at the whim of my outer environment where how I experience myself is determined by what is happening/present in my world/reality, to no longer be tossed about like a ragdoll from one emotion/feeling/reaction to the next, all taking a toll on my physical body, which will eventually lead to further consequence as my physical is more and more depleted by participating in these patterns.

I commit myself to realizing and remembering that since I am the creator of the patterns I exist as, because I have given permission to these patterns and I choose to participate in them, then I am the one who that must stop them, regardless of what is taking place in reality, as it is not my reality that created the patterns of reaction within me, and thus as long as I blame what is going on outside of me for my experience, then I will always be subject to my experience, and not a real being in fact that stands constant and the same no matter what in any given situation.

I commit myself to realizing the consequence of believing that it is things outside of me that is responsible for how I experience myself within myself as thoughts/feelings/emotions/backchat/reactions is trapping myself into a position where I can never change, because I’ll always be subject to my environment and thus will only always ever be just ‘along for the ride’ and thus will be ‘taken for a ride’, and not really living a real life where I am in the driver’s seat and can steer myself according to the principle of what is best for all.

I commit myself to realize that the patterns I learned to live as a child  of waiting to be told what to do, if I’ve done good, if there’s something wrong with me, etc., are no longer relevant, and that I have taken on these patterns into my own mind, and am living them out myself without a parent or other authority figure actually doing so as I have become those authorities figures policing myself from within my own mind.

I commit myself to stop waiting and to change myself by no longer participating in the beliefs and patterns I formed when I was a child, and to stop being dependent on my reality to determine who/how I am, thus no longer Waiting for Change, but standing up within/as myself to Be/Become that change, as the only way I can really change is if I change myself.

I commit myself to No Longer Wait, within uncovering every way in which I Wait to Change, in blaming my environment/world/situations/events/people and using them as a reason why I can’t change, why I apparently can’t stop blaming someone for something, can’t stop feeling mad at someone for something, can’t stop a reaction of being sad toward something, can’t stop a reaction of resistance toward doing something, and thus I commit myself to in specificity walk myself out of Waiting and into Self Directive Application where I stop being a victim of the Forces that come up within me, and Become the Force of Change within/as Myself.

Day 101: I’m Waiting For Something… What Am I Waiting For??

Featured Artwork by Andrew Gable

Here’s a pattern that I’ve lived for practically my whole life, since when I was little, I was taught that the parent knows, the adult knows, and you don’t. So you have to wait to be told. Told that you’ve been a good girl/boy, that you’ve done well, that you’ve done right, that you’ve done wrong, that you’ve let them down, or made them proud. And through this, you learn to wait. To wait for someone else to validate you. As if you’re not valid in yourself already. As if we need someone or something or some kind of outside feedback from our world to tell us that we’re ok, we’re doing good, we’re an effective person, we’ve succeeded, and when we don’t get that feedback, we figure we’ve failed, we’re doing something wrong, we’re worthless, there’s something wrong with me.

I’ve noticed I’ve been living and existing as this pattern where I'm waiting for something else to validate me. Something/someone else to tell me I'm good, I've made it, I can do it, I have value. Not standing as self value, and realizing that I can already value me now. I don't have to wait for anything. There is nothing to wait for, because it's just a belief in the first place that I require something to validate me and that I'm not valid in myself already.

My very being has become waiting for someone to tell me its ok, or to stop judging me, or to tell me I'm doing it right, or to give me permission. Permission to value myself, permission to do something, permission to do what I’m doing, permission to do what I’ve done, permission to forgive myself and let go of my past, permission to live. Permission to direct myself and my world and reality. It has become my very being to such extent that the very words I speak are always containing the essence of the question ‘is this ok?’ ‘Do you accept this? What I’m doing? What I’m saying?’ And why am I asking this actually? Because I haven’t accepted it -myself-.

So I’m always waiting for someone/something in my world to tell me there is nothing wrong with me, or what I'm doing, when it's always me, that is judging me, that is thinking it's not ok, that is feeling like I don't have permission, that I'm doing things wrong, that I'm no good, that I'm not sincere/that I'm fake, that what I'm doing is inappropriate, annoying, stupid, weird, strange, bad, wrong.

I would wish for points to validate me, believing that that was the only way I could stop feeling like I’m not effective, like I don’t have value, like I’m not a failure. Like, ‘if only I could make more sales at my job, then I would ‘know’ I’m effective’. Or ‘when everyone I meet/speak to me is nice to me, then I know I’m doing something right’. Or if others will laugh at my jokes, if others will take me seriously, if others will compliment me and what I’m doing, if I make more money, if I feel more at ease and comfortable with myself…

And within this, it’s all Waiting. Waiting for something/someone outside myself, not considering/realizing that I am actually Waiting For Myself. That it is in fact myself, that is judging myself as a failure if no one laughs at my joke, judging myself as ineffective if I’m not taken seriously, feeling like I’m doing something wrong if someone is ‘not nice’ to me, and I’m the one who’s not being at ease and comfortable with myself, because I’m waiting for a reason to tell me that I can now feel comfortable with myself, waiting for some reason to tell me that I can let go of my past and stop living as the patterns I’ve always existed as, because I don’t need to ‘succeed’ to stop feeling like a failure. Because it’s just a feeling, that I imposed on myself, based on the parameters that I learned from the examples around me in my childhood, of what external factors/situations/events to judge oneself as a failure for. Like the idea that you’re a failure if you don’t make enough money. Or if you don’t go to college. Or if others don’t ‘like’ you. We learn to create an experience within and toward ourselves based on these and other various points, and so we effectively become victims to our environment and the people we interact with and the situations we find ourselves in, instead of being a directive principle within our world and reality, waiting for our reality to define us/value us/determine who we are. Which is not Living. It’s Waiting. And Wasting one’s life within reasons/justifications/excuses why you can’t value yourself now, why you must wait for permission from ‘somewhere else’ – Where?? Who can give you permission to Live but Yourself?

Who is going to Value me if I don’t even Value myself? How can I expect another to do that which I’m not even doing myself? So what am I Waiting for? MYSELF. To stop Devaluing myself, to stop Judging myself, I am Waiting for Myself to STOP WAITING and to Give Myself Permission to Live, to Stop the Cycles of Waiting for something else to validate me, and realize that I am Here as Life that requires no validation, as I am simply Here, everything else is stuff we made up to keep us trapped in Forever Waiting and Never Living. So Are You Waiting and What Are You Waiting For?

This is what the process of Self Realization through Self Writing, Self Forgiveness and Self Corrective Application is here for, that you can see being walked in the Journey to Life blogs – to assist and support oneself to Stop Waiting and stand up as the Directive Principle in one’s life, to release self of the patterns of the past that keep us trapped in cycles of limitation, so we can actually Transform Ourselves into Real Living Beings and be Life Here, Self Directed, Self Moving, and actually Evolve.

Self Forgiveness on Waiting to come in the post to follow.
