Day 212: The Living Income Guaranteed Would Increase Minimum Wage for All Workers

So there is quite some movement lately going on in the U.S. in regards to raising the minimum wage to a 'living wage'. Thousands of low-paid fast food and retail workers have been walking out of their jobs calling for an increase to the minimum wage.

In this video from RT "Fast Food Fight: Thousands of low-paid workers take to US streets", a sign is held up which reads: “Worker's Rights are Human Rights” - and that's a very good point. Because the right to a decent living should be a guarantee for all human beings. It's basic human rights to have your needs met. It is not something that is just about or for 'workers' but for all human beings.

It really doesn't make sense to work away most of your life and yet not even make enough to have a decent living, or to have time to enjoy it.

On top of that, in this day and age with the technology we have, it doesn't require as much labor as we're putting in, to cover everyone's needs. Because, have a look, most of the labor we do, most of the jobs that are existing, aren't even related to needs. A vast majority of jobs are service jobs, which is essentially getting someone else to do something for you. Like cook a meal, or clean your house, or help you pick out a new outfit.

Here is a chart from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showing annual labor force statistics around the world from 1970-2012, where you can see that the service industry ( the dark pink) has always been the largest type of employment and has been steadily increasing, compared to industry (light blue) and agriculture (dark blue).

With the technology we have, much of human labor that is done in manufacturing isn't necessary to be done by human labor, it just is because it's cheaper for companies than investing in expensive machinery, and people are desperate to be employed to make what money they can to try to survive and eke out an existence.

I suggest to watch the documentary “Will Work for Free” as it shows quite clearly the potential of what we're facing in terms of technology replacing human labor, which shouldn't actually be a problem, but should be something we utilize to make life easier and more enjoyable for all of us here. But we've got to first sort out the point of support for all beings regardless of whether you're employed or how much you're employed. There needs to be a minimum level of support that is equal to a decent living otherwise we have problems, such as massive poverty and suffering, like we already have because of this very point. You need a job to survive, and there simply aren't enough for everyone, nor do the vast majority of the jobs that do exist, pay enough to actually live effectively.

The Living Income Guaranteed is the solution to this, as it provides that basic support for all individuals no matter what, and calls for a minimum wage for those who work that is double the amount of the basic Living Income. So that no matter what situation you are in, employed, unemployed or underemployed, you would have support for all your basic needs. And if you work, you would receive at least double that, so that you can afford some luxury in your life, as proper compensation for your time and labor. Because it does not make mathematical sense to be working day in and day out, and still be living in poverty, while your labor provides massive profits going somewhere else.

We need this kind of solution and sooner than later, because this is becoming a bigger and bigger issue that is going to more and more pressure on individuals and businesses, which can be avoided by working out this solution for support together and make as smooth transition as possible, into a country where life is actually valued and not taken advantage of for the sake of profits. Change isn't going to come by putting pressure on businesses, since they go by what the laws dictate, and that's why we have to take political action, not rebellious action, if we want to see real results. Let your politicians know that you support a Living Income.

Day 144: I Don’t Want to Do This: Imagination Dimension (Part 2)

Featured Artwork by Matti Freeman

This post is a continuation to:

We’re now continuing with the Imagination Dimension, of the ‘I Don’t Want to Do This’ Character, through which I’ve sabotaged myself from living here in/as real self expression, by allowing myself to ‘give in to temptation’ in my mind, to follow the ‘positive’ as what is interpreted by/within my mind as ‘positive’ and thus I have a ‘positive experience’ toward, and to avoid that which ‘gives me’ a ‘negative’ experience. This is the point that is missed within the new age philosophy of ‘following your feelings’ where the principle is ‘if it makes you feel good, do it – if it makes you feel bad, avoid it’ – where it’s not questioned or considered where these positive/negative feelings even come from, but you’re to allow them to direct you and your living and the very choices you make in your life. It’s not considered what is the actual consequence/outflow of when we all live this way, in following the ‘good feelings’ and avoiding what ‘makes us feel bad’, where when we look at the world at large, it’s obvious that we’re avoiding our responsibilities and the problems we’re creating, because we have negative reactions to those things, and we busy ourselves with seeking out entertainment in various forms, as that’s what makes us feel good. And so the problems just grow and never get sorted out, as we cling more and more to what positive we can get, which is less and less because we’re allowing the world problems to grow and grow.

So, this is why I walk my Journey to Life, in sorting out exactly how/were/when/why I’ve allowed myself to be directed by feelings of positive and negative, in order to stop being controlled, so that I can direct myself to take responsibility to take care of what needs to be done here, and to actually be a self-willed individual that is not simply following feelings that come up within me, undirected and without even understanding where they come from or how they’re created, as that means that I’m literally just a slave to these feelings. And so it’s through writing out specifically, what are the feelings, when/where do they come up, what is the consequence/result if I participate in them/allow them to direct me, and what would I do differently if I’m not simply following energetic feelings, through this process of writing to get to know myself actually, as how can we really know ourself when we don’t even understand how our mind operate ort where our thoughts come from or how they’re created.

Thus, continuing with the Imagination Dimension, which is the Dimension through which I imagine scenarios in my mind, which in this case of the ‘I Don’t Want to Do This’ Character, are ‘positive’ in nature, where I imagine myself doing things other than doing my job/working, that I see as positive, which is according to memories from my childhood/past. I’m sure most people can relate to this, as so many are busy working in jobs that one doesn’t really want to do, but has to in order to make a living. This is the result of living in the Capitalist system, where the starting point of jobs/work/employment, is to make profits, not to actually provide real service to life, that will benefit life as all of humanity, nature and the animals which is our whole world and environment and home. And so, it’s not things that we would do, but have been trained to accept and really have no choice as one’s survival isn’t guaranteed, but has to be earned within the capitalist system, which doesn’t guarantee an effective income for everyone that participates in the system, as depending on the job you get, you might get enough to live or you might not, and this is accepted currently. And so we’ve created a very tough situation for ourselves, in which we’re able to be convinced to do jobs we’d rather not, because there’s really no choice, and it’s just for the sake of profit and not an actual benefit to humanity and life overall, and in fact, is leading to it’s destruction.

So, here some context in regards to why I am walking this process, and within that, why I’m specifically walking this point of Character/Personality toward working, to clear up my relationship toward the current system and how employment/working/jobs currently exist, in order that I can be most effective here, within the current situation we’ve created here on earth, as I realize that it is my relationship to/toward working that must firstly change and be sorted out within myself, before ‘work’ itself as the outer manifestation as jobs/employment in this world can change, since what’s manifested in this world is actually the reflection of who we are as the relationships we accept and allow within ourselves.

In the next post, we’ll continue with the Imagination Dimension of the ‘I Don’t Want to Do This’ Character, in relation to working/jobs/employment.

Day 66: Self Forgiveness on the ‘I Hate Work’ Character

Featured Art by Damian Ledesma

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that I am actually accepting how ‘work’ currently exists as where work has become something that is ‘forced’ by living as that relationship to work within/as myself as how I approach/see/perceive work to be, and thus not considering that it could be another way.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that the key to transforming how ‘work’ currently exists is through transform my relationship to/toward work, as it is my acceptance and allowance of the belief that I don’t want to ‘work’ as actually doing things in this reality, that ensures that ‘work’ will remain forced, as I have not stood up from within and as this relationship to show to myself that I do not in fact require to be forced to actually move myself to do something in this world.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that work exists as forced because I do not move myself and I only move when there is the motivation that I've accepted and programmed myself to 'require' before I will move myself, such as force or reward, according to how I have allowed myself to be programmed within beliefs of what 'I don’t want to do’.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that this ‘not wanting to work’ actually supports consumerism within where I will rather want to just buy things to try to get out of doing labor myself, even though I still have to labor to make the money to buy things.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that who I am is ‘not wanting to work’, within this not realizing how I am actually compromising myself within developing the habit as a physical resistance to moving myself within this physical reality, where the more I participate in the thoughts and beliefs that ‘I don’t want to work’ and that ‘I want to do as little effort as possible’ the more resistance I build within myself within my physical where I will actually feel/experience an actual physical resistance to moving myself, where it will feel like my body doesn’t want to move, where my body will feel tired and lethargic at the mere thought of doing something which I’ve defined as ‘something I must/am forced to do’, and thus, within this literally programming myself as my physical to have more and more difficulty moving and doing anything that requires any effort, and thus when I encounter something that I have defined as what I would like to do, I will find a difficulty even in doing that, as I have programmed my physical to avoid labor and effort of any sort.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to see ‘work’ as something I ‘must do’, and to live this belief within acting/speaking in ways to avoid ‘work’, where I am actually trying to avoid the experience I have programed myself to have, which is to have a negative reaction to that which require effort, wherein I will feel tired and lethargic and depressed and like I will ‘sink down’ within myself and my physical will actually feel heavy and difficult to move, when if I have created this reaction, then the solution is to obviously see/investigate exactly how I’ve created this reaction so that I can assist and support myself to deprogram this reaction, which will be me setting myself free from my own imposed limitations, with the result that I’ll no longer experience resistance toward work/effort, and thus will be able to move effectively in my world and actually expand myself and my ability beyond what I’ve ever imagined.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to exist as a society where ‘what we do’ is not an equal and one expression of who we are, and thus where what we do is in total separation from the context of reality, where much of the work/labor that is done is done for the sake of profit – for a few to make money – and not because it is an actual expression of who we are as human beings in this physical reality, on this earth with everything that is here as nature and the animals.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not consider that I came into this world ready to learn and express, but that I was immediately trained for how to work within the current system, which does not regard life or function in ways that is best for life, and thus the belief that who I am is ‘not wanting to work’ is only a belief and not actually who I am, as I had to learn to accept it as ‘who I am’ and had to learn how to live it, within learning the behaviors/mannerisms/words one speaks and acts out, within and as this character of ‘I hate work’ from the examples around me, and thus it is simply a character suit that I’ve put on and live as the actor in the play of ‘I hate work’ and thus is not who I actually am, because I am able to take the suit off, as it is I that decide ‘who I am’.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that I must transform myself as my relationship to work/labor to be/become actual self expression of myself within the context of who I am as a physical being that is equal and one with the whole of existence, and thus must investigate and get to know myself intimately to see where/how I am living this character in my daily life, so that I can apply self forgiveness and corrective application to actually change who I am in the moment where I no longer live as the character of ‘I hate work’, but live here as the Real Character which is the flesh as the physical human body that is made of Substance.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not consider why am I separated from 'work' in where I experience work as something I don’t want to do and will find any reason to ‘get out of’ – where in the context of what’s here that’s necessary to be done, what does it matter what it is that you’re doing from a personal perspective. Because if you let the world and your life with it go to shit because what was required to be done you just didn’t feel like doing it, well how stupid is that?

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not consider that I can become one and equal to the job in standing up to take responsibility for the point instead of remaining in the position of a victim to the system.

Day 65: The "I Hate Work" Character

Growing up I began to learn from my parents about work and money, and how money is required to live, and you must go out into the world/society to try and find a job from somewhere. What was missing within this education about how the world works currently, so you’re immediately presented with the perception that work/jobs/labor is something you ‘have to do’ to be able to survive in this world.

So there is no actual choice, you’re not supported from day 1 to develop your self expression as what you’d like to be/become in this world, but rather you must learn how to do something that someone else will pay you for, according to how we’ve allowed one’s labor to be given a value within the current system, where we’ve given different jobs different values according to how profitable they are, regardless of whether the job has value to life or not or is actually harmful to life.

We’ve developed a massive resistance toward ‘working’ as we’ve always had to do it/been forced into it, and it’s generally presented and seen as something you don’t want to do but have to. Most jobs available do not even pay enough to actually have a dignified life and get all the things that one needs. Why is that? So that you have to work a lot, and that labor can be taken advantage of.  It’s not this way for everyone however, some are born into positions with money and never have to work to survive and so for them they have the opportunity to have choice in what they do, and have support from the get-go in developing skills to do what they like. When I realized this, in school where in the textbooks they show a picture of a pyramid and the different levels of class in society, basically the very poor, those able to have relative comfort, and the very small amount at the top who are very wealthy, and it’s just presented as if this is the way it is, and it’s totally normal and acceptable. When I realized that I was toward the bottom of that pyramid and that there was very little likelihood that I would ever be anywhere near the top of the pyramid, especially because the top is so very small and it’s obvious that the rest of the pyramid can’t fit in there, I was incredibly disheartened in that moment, as I realized that my life would always be a struggle.

Within this, I formed a relationship toward ‘working’ as ‘something I have to do but don’t want to’ and this is how most of those within my world acted toward work as well, and I accepted this example as valid, and especially within jobs that were very low paying, which is most jobs, there was the predominant mindset of ‘I may as well work as little as possible since I’m getting paid as little as possible’. At first I went along with that idea, within the mindset of ‘I don’t want to work really hard if I’m getting such low pay, as then I will be expected to work hard for such low pay’, like I will be saying, yes ok I’m fine with getting such low pay that I can barely afford to live and I will work hard as well. But eventually I realized, that within this I was actually teaching myself and my physical body to be lazy, as the more I participated in this form of laziness, the more tired I would generally feel, and I could see I was developing an actual physical resistance to doing things, and that was really not cool, because I may not have liked doing the job I had to do, but I liked to do other things, but those things became more difficult to do, the more I developed the pattern of laziness. So I decided to focus and do my job effectively, regardless of how much or how little I was getting paid, as this way I would not be developing myself and programming myself to be limited and to have an actual physical resistance to doing things. This had the effect of making me a ‘valuable’ worker and thus gave me some job security, as employers ‘liked me’ because I actually did the job, as employers in the current profit-based system are always looking for the most ‘profitable’ workers.

Since there are more people who require jobs to work than there are jobs, you are in a position where you must please the employer or you will simply be fired and another person can easily be hired, so you learn that you must be obedient and do as the employer asks, and accept the position of being one that obeys with no actual ability to direct anything within your job, it is already worked out exactly what you’re to do and so you just walk into the job and follow the prescribed orders.

Within this, you never really have the opportunity to develop self responsibility  to move yourself in this world, as you simply get slotted-in to whatever position you can get, into a predefined role. Thus one develops a relationship to ‘work’ where you’ll only do it out of necessity, and seek to otherwise avoid it.

Yet what is possible if we worked as an expression of who we are, within doing the work that’s necessary to be done to provide ourselves with that which is actually needed to live, and in the most effective way possible, instead of limited roles as simply slave labor to create products and services that aren’t needed but just created to make profit. The labor required to provide ourselves with our needs would require one to work significantly less than one must work now in the current capitalist system, where we’ve allowed ourselves to become slaves to want and desire as consumerism and now must work day in and day out creating products to fulfill desires. Thus, if we weren’t busy with that, we’d have much more time to develop skills and abilities that are actually relevant to and supportive of life, where one would really have the time to get to know the actual physical reality here and explore what is possible to be done when we’re actually moving ourselves to be real participants in this reality.

What this requires is that we must actually correct and change the relationship to work within ourselves, as we’ve actually become and are living the relationship of separation toward ‘work’ wherein the resistance toward ‘working’ exists within ourselves, and thus we have to stand up from within what we’ve manifested as this current system of slave labor, and to literally transform it as ourselves into expression here, within investigating/discovering/researching what is really relevant here, what is it that we actually need, how to actually effectively utilize and distribute the resources of the earth in such a way that all have what they need and that everything we create is of the best quality.

This can’t/won’t just happen by itself, and it’s not considered just what it’s going to take to change this relationship within and as ourselves, for example by such groups as Zeitgeist and the Venus Project, who see that we could be living this way, but do not understand the practical steps that’s required in actually transforming ourselves and our relationship toward ‘work’ and developing real actual self expression. Wherein we have to investigate ourselves in our day to day living and see how we live toward and as ‘work’ so that we can see what/how we’re living work to exist as, within not taking responsibility to actually be one and equal to that which we do, instead just resigning ourselves to following a leader and avoiding responsibility at all cost, within the perception/belief that we want to do as little as possible, and not considering how we sabotage ourself within that.

Therefore, I will walk self forgiveness and corrective statements within the following post to assist and support with realizing the relationship we’ve come to exist as toward ‘work’ in separation of ourselves as self expression, and redefining our relationship toward ‘work’ to transform it into actual self expression, where we actually move ourselves to be real participants in this physical reality and explore the possibilities of our potential.

Part of this process includes actually changing the system that exists into one that will/can actually support ourselves to walk this process which is why the Equal Money System is being created, as the system wherein we realize the potential we have to live as equals here and no loner enslave ourselves and each other to a monetary system. Get involved with the formation of the Equal Money System, as it is open to all to participate within the goal of supporting life to the fullest potential.
