In the previous post we walked Self Forgiveness in relation to the point of ‘Copyright’ in having a look at what we’ve accepted and allowed that such a thing as ‘copyright’ exists, and here we’re continuing with Commitment Statements, wherein we walk the commitment to corrective application to stop the consequences we’re manifesting in this reality.

I commit myself to see, realize and understand that the human does not actually require profit/making money as motivation to create or do things, and that in the current system the promise of profit/making money is used to motivate the human to do things they would not otherwise do, in order to make money to survive. Within this, I commit myself to show everyone that would argue that the human requires profit/making money as motivation that this is not the case in fact, as it’s the fear of survival that motivates the human to commit all sorts of unspeakable acts, labor in the worst of conditions, take advantage of one’s fellow man, and rape and destroy the earth and the environment in which we live and depend on to exist, because they are not given the means with which to secure their survival which is Money, as some are given more and some are given less and some are given none and they Die.

I commit myself to question every aspect of the current economic system, within the starting point of that it should be system which functions to effectively support all of humanity, meaning that all should have a house, access to food, water, clothing, effective education and healthcare, and that if these things are not being provided effectively to every single being here, then something is very wrong with our system.

I commit myself to realize that ‘copyright’ exists as a way that one can ‘make it’ for themselves, and that within this it’s not even considered why one has to find a way to ‘make it’ and isn’t supported in the first place. Thus, I commit myself to see, realize and understand that our system should be functioning in such a way that one doesn’t have to ‘get lucky’ and find one of these few ways, which only a few humans will be actually have access to, to ‘make it’ in the system, and that that indicates a massive failure of our system to do what it is intended to do, which is to function as a life-support system for humanity and all life.

I commit myself to, when I see points within the system that seem like they benefit me as offering me the possibility to ‘make it’ in the system, to look and see if it is something that is able to be applied to everyone actually, cause if not then it is actually not a real benefit to life and myself as life, as it only serves a few while leaving everyone else out, and I might/could be one of those left out, and thus I commit myself to realize that there is no point to have a system which is only supporting some, when all require support equally, and it is actually in my best interest to ensure that no matter where I am that I am supported, as I would not want to be left out.

I commit myself to see, realize and understand that by supporting a concept/law like copyright, that I am actually supporting abuse, because I am supporting something that is not available to all and thus will only support those that have access to the opportunity while everyone else is left out, and thus I am responsible for those on the ‘losing side’ as I am supporting the very system which only includes some while leaving others out.

I commit myself to living the realization that we should have a system which is supporting everyone and all of life, as life should not be a strife, and we should not be enslaving anyone by withholding their very needs for survival, as no one would want to be in that position, and therefore I commit myself to supporting the Equal Money System, where the entire starting point principle of the system is to support all life equally, within the realization that no one should be left out, because you could be that someone, and thus by implementing a system based on equality, you give the gift to all that you want for yourself, and in that you have given it to yourself as well.

Day 137: The Copyright Scam Revisited: Self Forgiveness

In this post, we’re revisiting the earlier post Day 132: Does Copyright Make Sense? Or Just Cents? where I wrote about Copyright, if you haven’t yet read that post, suggest to do so to have context on the following Self Forgiveness statements.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize and understand that the human doesn’t require profit/making money as motivation to create or do things, and within this to believe that the current system apparently shows that the human is dependent on/requires incentive to work, when what it is actually showing is that when you withhold the resources that one needs to survive, you can convince them to work to get the money to buy their survival, and thus what the current system is actually showing us is that physical beings with physical requirements can be enslaved by deliberately withholding one’s requirements from them.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not question the concept of ‘copyright’ and to believe that it makes sense to have a law where one is given the right to collect profits for themselves, within this not realizing how the starting point is not about doing what is best for all life, but is about personal gain in spite of everyone else, and thus I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that in supporting a concept like ‘copyright’ I’m supporting greed and self interest in fact, as copyright serves to give profit to some and keep it from others.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see that I liked the idea of copyright because I thought – ‘hey, if I make something someday, I would like to have the profits all to myself’ – and thus within this, I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see how I am in fact responsible for a society which is based in self interest and greed, because I was living it myself in my very starting point. Within this, not considering at all, the billions who will never be in a position to make produce something to be copyrighted and thus it’s not an opportunity that is available to all, and therefore copyright is obviously no ‘just’ thing, as it cannot apply to everyone, in fact most cannot/will not benefit from copyright law, and thus it is to serve only a few individuals in this world to make profits off all the rest. 

And, within that, I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see how by supporting a concept/idea/law like copyright, that I was in fact compromising myself and supporting abuse of myself by not ensuring that what I was supporting was something that could be applied by all, which would ensure that no matter what situation I find myself in , I would be supported and not abused, as I hadn’t considered that the law of copyright creates two sides, one of winners and one of losers, and that the winner side is very very small, and thus one has a very high chance of being on the losing side.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize and understand how when I support ideas like copyright because I am hoping to be one of the few winners – that I am simultaneously creating the losing side, and within this not realizing the solution of simply not creating sides in the first place, but creating a world where everyone is a winner which would automatically make me a winner, and I would not have to take a gamble in the casino system of Capitalism in the ‘hopes’ of ‘making it’, because it would be so in the first place.

Thus - I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not see, realize and understand that if a system has things like ‘copyright law’ and ‘lotteries’ and get ‘rich quick schemes’, and so many ways that give one the hope that just maybe they can get lucky and make out and have their survival and quality of life secured, that this indicates that our economic system is a total and complete massive failure, as there should be no hoping for some lucky jackpot that for most will never ever come, but everyone should be effectively supported and not have to spend a lifetime ‘hoping’ in the casino system of Capitalism, but everyone should have the best life possible.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that all beings can be and should be taken care of and effectively supported, because I accepted the system as it was presented as how it must be, not realizing that we are the ones that decide how it is, and that this means that we are the ones that decide to have a casino system where we have to hope and gamble our lives away while a few make a profit and live in a life of luxury, and thus we are the ones that can change this and implement an Equal Money System where everyone can have the best life possible, as that is how it should always have been.

Day 132: Does Copyright Make Sense? Or Just Cents?

As I was reading an article from Economist’s Journey To Life: Day 127: Copyright Scam, an interesting point came up for consideration. The post is about Copyright, and specifically about a case where a man from Thailand had his friends and family send him text books from there, as he could sell them for more in the U.S. He was sued and lost, but is busy appealing the case before the Supreme Court.

The question before the courts is whether the copyright owner’s permission is required, to sell products within the U.S. that were purchased elsewhere. Theodore Olsen, the attorney representing the publisher, implied that this would help the global economy, as “The whole idea of copyright laws is to provide people with an incentive to create books, movies, or other works of art. If you take away that incentive, you’re not going to have creators out there doing things that give us pleasure or educate us.”

In the blog, a great point is made, pointing out that the point of copyright is to make a profit, and that is the same thing that the guy was doing by selling the text books. So here we see the double standard that is at play within the current system. Where the system is supposed to be about ‘anyone can succeed’, as if it’s a free-for-all, level-playing-field, where you can do what you can to make profits, but then there are rules that protect the profit making opportunities of some, while preventing others.

A point within this that is really important to consider is - what does it really mean if we require the incentive of profits and control over profits, in order to make us create things? It means that we’re really doing it for the money, and not purely for the expression of it, because it’s what we’d actually like to do and it’s an actual expression of ourselves. Especially because, we know, that we live in a system where you require money to live. So for many, in fact for most, it is a case of life-and-death survival where if you don’t make enough income, you will not be able to afford effective life-support in the system. So, when considering that, it’s easy to see how one would want to latch on to the idea of copyright, as ‘if I can make something and sell it and copyright it, then I am guaranteed money which means my life security is guaranteed, and I’ll be able to have an enjoyable life here and not one of suffering and lack. So essentially this means, that because money has been tied directly to our survival, and that we are not provided with enough money to live with, necessitates that we must find ways to get money, by doing jobs and creating things. So, essentially we’ve enslaved ourselves, where if you don’t find a way to make money you’re toast.

And within that, we don’t support everyone with effective ways to make money, and that’s why people look to ideas like this, of buying something cheaper in one place and selling it for more in another. That is actually the foundation that capitalism is founded on, it happens daily in the stock exchange, buying and selling, buying and selling, buying cheap, selling high.

What this case over copyright shows, is how our entire living in this world is one based on fear, because if you said, hey let’s take away copyright, there would be the reaction of ‘but that’s taking away a possible opportunity for me to be secured some profits if I make something’ and thus it comes down to a point of ‘my survival isn’t guaranteed’, and thus why we go for things and laws that look like it might provide us the opportunity to protect some profit for ourselves.

But within this, what hasn’t been considered, is changing the very starting point foundation of our system – to where survival is not withheld to force work out of the human, which churns out things like those movies that you can tell right away were made just to make some money and not because they are any kind of quality expressive work, and would never have been made if it wasn’t for that they could make money from it. Yet it’s this idea that without the incentive of ‘having to make money or else you can’t afford to live properly’ that no one would do/produce anything, that inhibits us from seeing, realizing and understanding that this is no way to live, that most of the entire population does not appreciate or like in any way, having to work just to survive.

Not only that, it cannot be claimed that the human would not produce/create anything, because money has not always existed, so how did we ever start creating things, if we weren’t getting paid? Yes that’s right, we weren’t getting paid and we still created things for our pleasure – music, art, etc. We in fact still do many things to this day without getting paid, even as difficult as that is, when most people have to spend so much time working to survive. Without the survival point driving people, not so much to create art and music and books, but working in dead-end retail jobs for bare minimum pay, and that is just in the elite countries, which is a small portion of the world’s entire population. The rest of the population endure even harsher conditions just trying to survive. Now, just imagine how much art, music and things to enjoy that all those people could be producing, if not caught up in the slavery system.

The best ‘incentive’ for humanity to create real ‘works of art’ as real self-expression, would be to provide for every single individual the utmost opportunity to live and thrive, as then humanity can actually begin to relax, and the expression can really start flowing. And the art that would come out of that, will not be made for money or survival, but as a real movement of self to create something, and share it with the world.
